About Us
Meet Dr. Julie Kero
North Star Kids Therapy founder, Dr. Julie Kero, OTD, OTR/L has always been one to carve her own pathway and has
found that this leads to the most success and happiness in life. She has always been one to wonder “what if”, letting her
mind wander and following her heart. This has led her to begin her own therapy and lifestyle enrichment business, helping
kids to uncover more about themselves and their hidden potentials.
Julie has been working as a pediatric occupational therapy practitioner since 2016, supporting kids in various environments, including in-home, online/virtual, day care centers, private schools, and in-clinic. Julie moved to the Green Bay area from Chicago in 2024 and has since received her doctorate in occupational therapy. Additionally, Julie is an
ADHD-Rehabilitation Services Provider, certified in both Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, and is trained in Handwriting Without Tears©.
She has a vision to continue to build her business by expanding to community outreach/collaboration, providing support for community programs to make recreational and leisure activities more inclusive for children with varying abilities and needs. Additionally, she is aiming to incorporate nature-based occupational therapy into practice, eventually having a designated nature space to make this an everyday possibility in practice for her clients and families.
Getting Started
Step 1. Get in Contact
Get in contact with us via email or the contact form below. We will then reach out to you within a few business days with an intake form. Fill out the intake form with brief information about your child, concerns you may have, areas you are looking for additional support, and your contact information. You will be contacted within 1-3 business days to discuss the next steps with the process.
Step 2. Free Screening/Consultation
We will schedule a 15-30 minute screening (onsite at your preferred location or virtually) or consultation (phone call) to determine if your child would benefit from moving forward with the process.
Step 3. Evaluation
After an initial screening or consultation, your therapist will provide options for an evaluation. Evaluations are scheduled for one hour in person, followed by the therapist writing up an evaluation report/summary of results afterwards.
Step 4. Therapy Plan Development
From there, your therapist will discuss the evaluation results and build your unique therapy plan with you, taking into careful consideration all your personal goals, needs, concerns, etc. This is where we would discuss frequency of sessions and anticipated length of time for your child’s therapy plan.
Payment System
North Star Kids Therapy uses a cash pay system that puts you in control of your care. By branching away from traditional insurance payments for services, we have the freedom to build a customized program and therapy plan that best meets your child’s needs. This allows us to meet with you at a personal level and provide therapy without limitations.
